
The CCSD welcomed Mr. Cole Flanders, his family and members of his new Chick-fil-A team for a new store Ribbon Cutting & Open House held at the new Chick-fil-A restaurant in Valley this morning. The store's grand opening for the public is planned for Thursday, December 5th.

We hope that everyone had a GREAT Thanksgiving break and are eager to return to campus tomorrow. This Thursday we will have a Critter Show assembly. Students will be able to experience a wide range on unique animals. This event will cost $2 per student. Please sent correct change Monday-Thursday of this week.

This November, Gov. Kay Ivey is calling on Alabamians to recognize our hard-working educators during the 5th Annual Thank Alabama Teachers observance. #ThankALTeachers is a statewide movement to help us celebrate the difference our teachers are making with students in the CCSD!

Please remember that we are still collecting orders for the Chick-Fil-A PTO Bingo night. Deadline is Friday to turn in these orders. Don't miss out on dinner and FUN!! All BINGO purchases will be collected the night of the event, but the Chick-Fil-A money must be turned in ahead of time.

Last Thursday, the CCSD honored the legacy & memory of a beloved former teacher, Mr. Michael Frederic Power by officially dedicating the JROTC program in his name as “The Chambers County School District JROTC Power Program.” Power had served VHS as both a teacher & coach.




One of our biggest fundraisers is right around the corner. This is a great opportunity to support our PTO and gather door prizes that you can use for Christmas presents! Please make sure to send in your pre order for Chick-Fil-A by Friday! We will not purchase extras.


Today, the CCSD received rug donations from Carpets for Kids from West Point. The 65 donated carpets are designed to enhance learning for young children. Rugs were delivered to schools at Eastside, Fairfax, Huguley, and Shawmut with the donation exceeding $20,000.00 in value.






Please remember these guidelines are put in place to ensure the safety of all students. Tomorrow night is the final game of the football season for the Valley Rams. Please come out and support the football players, cheerleaders, and band members as they all strive for one final WIN on Senior Night! Students that see Mrs. Dabbs at the ballgame will earn 10 house points!

The CCSD is supporting positive choices for our students for Red Ribbon Week 2024. Red Ribbon week is celebrated annually from Oct. 23-31, & is the nation's oldest & largest drug prevention awareness program. The 2024 theme is "Life is A Movie, Film Drug Free." www.redribbon.org





This year’s Amazing Shake Jr. included 4th & 5th graders from the CCSD. 24 students competed in the 1st round, 10 in the 2nd round & 5 were finalists. The contest focuses on conversation skills, public speaking, maintaining calm under pressure, & other interpersonal skills.






Yesterday, Mr. Larry Thornton & the Why Not Win Institute team made a special presentation to students in grades 6-12 at the LaFayette HS auditorium. Thornton is a CEO, entrepreneur, published author & talented artist. He inspired students with strategies for success for their future goals. This week the CCSD team enjoyed their visit to Auburn University on Wednesday for the AU College of Education (Fall) Teacher Recruitment Fair. We were able to meet several new teacher candidates and interviewed more than a dozen AU students that will be graduating mid year.
