Due to an abundance of caution, the CCSD will release students on Thursday, Sept. 26th at 12 noon local time for schools. Friday, Sept. 27th will be an E-Learning Day for all students & staff working from home. This decision was made as a safety precaution. Stay weather aware.

Good afternoon CCSD parents, students and staff,
We are monitoring the weather & the impact on Chambers County. Please know that we will wait to make a final decision when we have a better understanding of the timing and forecast for our area. Please stay weather aware.

BHS Fall Festival is Thursday, October 17th from 5pm-8pm. 💜💛🎃

The CCSD is thankful for our sponsors & partners in education who have supported students & staff with their commitments for the 2024-25 school year. Please patronize our partners in this link. https://www.chambersk12.org/o/ccsd/page/24-25-partners-in-education-sponsors

Shawmut Nurse’s Note
It is absolutely heart-breaking to discuss a topic of this nature when discussing our
very young students but, let’s talk about vaping. Of course, I know your 6-7 year
old child cannot walk into a store and buy vapes but that will not stop them from
getting their hands on one.
They are being found on playgrounds, sidewalks and in the homes of their friends.
If your child finds one, they will probably have no idea what they are but you
know they’re going to be curious and probably pick it up. The terrifying fact is,
though, that as harmful as vapes are, they may not be filled with what they were
intended to be filled with. Vapes are being found right here in our small
community with marijuana, meth and even Fentanyl. I shudder to even imagine
the consequences of these chemicals in the hands and mouths of a small child.
If you use a vape yourself, please be mindful about how curious children are and
keep it far away from their eyes and hands as possible. Please, parents,
grandparents, adult friends, talk to your children about not picking up anything
that looks unusual. Take a good look around where your child is exploring. Watch
over your children carefully. This world just gets scarier by the year. Don’t let your
child be a statistic.

School attendance starts with small steps, such as arriving on time. Many important learning opportunities for students occur in the morning when they participate in valuable learning activities. This reminder is to be present everyday for future success! #attendancematters

The CCSD is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. It is observed annually from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15th. The 30-day period was set by President Reagan in 1988 & enacted into law. Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to honor the cultures, histories and contributions of Hispanics & Latino Americans to America. This year’s theme is “Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together.” La frase encaja perfectamente con el tema de este año del Mes Nacional de la Herencia Hispana: "Pioneros del Cambio: Moldeando el Futuro Juntos."
