Honor Society Requirements

The sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students are eligible for membership. Eligibility is based on scholastic performance and conduct. Scholastic requirement for initial induction is an overall average of 90 or above. The conduct grate must be satisfactory in all subjects.
Continued membership requires maintaining grades of B or better in all subjects and a satisfactory conduct grade. If these standards are not met for any one grading period, the student has the next nine week grading period to meet these standards.

Membership in the J. P. Powell Honor Society is one of the highest honors that can be awarded to a Middle School student.  The J. P. Powell Honor Society works hard to bring the accomplishments of outstanding students to the attention of parents, teachers, peers, and the community.

Membership, however, is more than an honor.  It carries with it more privileges.   It incurs a responsibility and an obligation to demonstrate outstanding qualities that result in selection.

If our organization is to be effective and meaningful, each one must become responsible, respectful, and resourceful.
